Here’s what you’ll see when you first open the app.

The top field is where you’ll enter the email you used to activate your Mongotel User account.

The bottom field is where you’ll enter the password you’ve set for your account.

Dial Pad Page

This is the main page of the Mongotel Softphone App. Here’s where you’ll tap the numbers you’d like to call, just like on a physical desk phone.

To the left of the dial pad, you can see your a series of icons and your extension number in colored highlight depending on your BLF status.

The Dial pad icon takes is where you are now.
The Contacts icon takes you to the Contacts page. The Recents icon takes you to the recent calls page.
The moon icon activates do-not-disturb mode.
The cog icon takes you to the settings menu.

The white cassette button takes you to your voicemail using the *85 star code. And the blue button initiates a call with whichever extension or phone number you’ve typed in.

While making calls, you’ll see a few buttons:

  • Keypad” takes you back to the keypad.

  • The volume icon enables you to select the speaker for Mongotel Softphone to use.

  • The red phone hangs up the call.

  • The microphone button enables you to mute or unmute your mic.

  • The blue-circled red dot enables you to toggle call recording.

Contacts Page

Here’s where you’ll see any contacts you’ve added. You can import them directly from Google or Microsoft Office 365. You can also create quick dials to make dialing as easy as clicking the user’s icon.

In the top of this screen, you’ll see a few icons:

  • Click the magnifying glass to search for a specific contact.

  • Click the dropdown menu to change the type of contact.

  • Click the plus button to create a new contact of the selected type.

Here’s the pop-up window that appears when you click to create a new quick dial on the Contacts page.

Recents Page

Here, you’ll see all of your recent calls.

Clicking a call opens a log window that looks like this:

Calls recorded in the Mongotel Softphone App are saved locally to your device, not to your cloud-hosted extension. For more information, read How to Enable Call Recording For Your Device in the Mongotel Softphone App.

If call recording is active, you can play back and download recordings by clicking the play or cloud buttons.

Settings

Here’s where you can edit your account settings, preferences, and more. You can enable a few neat features here, too, like a warning beep when recording calls.

Recent Calls Page

Here, you’ll see all of your recent calls. Want to quickly return a missed call? Just tap it!

In the top right corner, you’ll see a few icons. Clicking “All calls” opens a dropdown window that allows you to filter your calls.

The question mark next to “All calls” allows you to search for specific numbers. And the triple dots open another window, which you can use to clear your call history and start over with a blank slate.

Contacts Page

Here’s where you’ll see any contacts you’ve added. You can import them directly from Google, Microsoft Office 365, or your Address Book.

In the top right of this screen, you’ll see a few icons. Tap “Address Book“ to filter your contacts.

Click the magnifying glass to search for a specific contact by name. The triple dots can take you to the Settings menu.
