How to Enable Call Recording For Your Device in the Mongotel Softphone App

This is local call recording. Enabling call recording through this process will enable call recording exclusively for calls you place through the Mongotel Softphone App. It will not record other calls made by other Mongotel Users at your organization, nor will it record other calls to/from your extension answered outside of the Mongotel Softphone App.

Call recording can be set up in one of two ways:

  1. Your Mongotel User Admin puts in a request with Mongotel Client Support.

  2. You toggle it on for your extension in the Mongotel Softphone App.

This document will show you how to do Option 2 on desktop, Android, and iOS devices. If you would like to toggle call recording for individual calls in the Mongotel Softphone App, just tap the recording icon in the keypad during a call.

Desktop

Step 1: Click the Settings icon.

Step 2: Click “Recording.”

Recording

Step 3: Toggle on “Record all calls.”

Step 4 (Optional): Decide how long you would like to keep call recordings before automatically deleting them.

If any frequency other than “keep forever” is selected, recorded calls will be automatically deleted after the set period of time.

Android

Step 1: Tap the triple vertical dots and select “Settings.”

Step 2: Tap “Preferences.”

Step 3: Tap “Call recording.”

Step 4: Toggle on “Record all calls.”

iOS

Step 1: Tap the Settings icon.

Step 2: Tap “Preferences.”

Step 3: Tap “Call Recording.”

Step 4: Toggle “Record All Calls” on.

Step 5: (Optional): Decide how long you would like to keep call recordings before automatically deleting them.

If any frequency other than “keep forever” is selected, recorded calls will be automatically deleted after the set period of time.

Wrap-Up

Now, all calls you make or take within the Mongotel Softphone App should be automatically recorded. You’ll be able to find those recordings in the Recents tab of the app. There, you can play, download, or delete the recordings at your liesure.
