How to Enable Headset Buttons in the Mongotel Softphone App (Sennheiser/EPOS)

EPOS is the brand that evolved from Sennheiser. These terms refer to different brands owned by the same company, but they often refer to the same products.

EPOS headsets have a bunch of neat buttons hardwired in. That’s why so many call centers, telecom agencies, and tech support teams use them. And, since support is at the core of everything we do here at Mongotel, we made sure to include compatibility with those features in our Mongotel Softphone app. This guide explains how to enable them.

Desktop: Toggling On the “Enable EPOS integration” button

To enable EPOS headset button integration with the Mongotel Softphone app, there’s a little button you’ll want to toggle on. It’s called “Enable EPOS integration.”

Step 1: Click the Settings icon.

Step 2: Click “Sound.”

Step 3: Click the toggle next to “Enable EPOS integration.”

Android and iPhone: Compatibility Depends on Your Device

Some headsets are more compatible with some devices than others. Unfortunately, Mongotel has no control over which devices Apple users or Android users can pair with their phones. Before purchasing a headset for use with the Mongotel Softphone app, first make sure that it is compatible with your device. Remember this nifty saying when it comes to compatibility requirements: “hardware first, then software.”

Wrap-Up

After toggling on “Enable EPOS integration,” all EPOS headsets compatible with your device should now be working properly with the Mongotel Softphone app.
