How to Collect SIP Logs for Troubleshooting in the Mongotel Softphone App

Session initiation protocol (SIP) logs are a very important part of the tech support and troubleshooting processes. They give our Agents quite a bit of info to work with, which can in turn make it easier to find a solution for any issues you may be facing.

This document will cover how to find those logs, how to save them, and how to send them to Mongotel Client Support.

Desktop

Step 1: Click the Settings icon.

Step 2: Click “Controls.”

Step 3: Toggle “Log SIP Traffic” on and then click “Logs.”

Step 4: Recreate the issue.

Step 5: Go back to the Logs page.

Step 6: Hover in the top right of the screen and click “Save.”

Step 7: Select a download location and click “Save.”

Step 8: Email the SIP log (siplog.txt) to helpdesk@mongotel.com.

Android

Step 1: Tap the triple vertical dots and select “Settings.”

Step 2: Tap “Preferences.”

Step 3: Toggle on “Troubleshooting log.”

Step 4: Move the app into the background, while keeping it in recent apps.

Step 5: Reopen the app and recreate the issue.

Step 6: Repeat Steps 1 and 2 and then Tap “Logs.”

Step 9: Choose a save location and tap “Save.”

Step 10: Email the SIP log to helpdesk@mongotel.com.

iOS
