How to Edit Volume and Audio Device Settings in the Mongotel Softphone App

There are few things as frustrating as downloading a new app just to find out you can’t hear any calls or the audio isn’t playing from the right device. That’s why we wrote up this quick guide—to help provide an intuitive and easy process for resolving this issue in the Mongotel Softphone app.

Desktop

By default, the audio devices for input and output are set to the system’s defaults. For example, if your desktop’s default audio device is a monitor, then Mongotel Softphone will use that monitor as the default input and output.

Step 1: Click the Settings icon.

Step 2: Click “Sound.”

Step 3: Ensure the correct devices are selected for “Speaker,” “Microphone,” and “Ringtone.”

Step 4: Scroll down and adjust the volume however you’d like.


iPhone

On iPhones and Androids, the Mongotel Softphone app uses whichever audio device is connected to your phone at whatever volume your phone has set. To change the devices, connect or disconnect those devices in your phone’s Settings menu (not inside the app).


Android

Wrap-Up

And there you have it! Your preferred audio device should now be set up at your preferred volume. While making these changes, you might have noticed a few other settings in the app as well. Feel free to tinker with each of them until you find the Goldilocks configuration—the one that’s just right.
